First War Page 6

Akor turned around and looked at the army, “We are moving to the next tribe!” Akor shouted.

He planned to clear out the tribes within at least 2 kilometers of his village and create a buffer zone in preparation for building the temple.

The next village was bigger because it was just a little away from Sanity. It even had walls, and the residents numbered over 100 but that didn’t change the fact that Akor’s numbers and power were much higher. This one was run by an imp which actually had high intelligence making Akor curious about this imp.

He subjected it similar to the other one and since the red demon came from imp, the similar DNA lineage, made the imps give in even faster.

He made sure to check the village information because of the confusing quality he saw with the previous one.

  Village Cube

  Low Quality

A low quality village. Run by a Tier 1 demon, there is a small amount of defense and some development.

  Village chief - None

The village had hunters but no farms and the research they had was mostly copies of what Akor had but he wasn’t sad about that. Valring said that if he could gather enough copies, he could get a researcher to merge all the scrolls which would unlock the next level.

They moved on to the third village but as they reached it, Akor’s eyes narrowed.

“Adok, didn’t you say the largest village was far off and had around 500 tribes members?” Akor asked.

“Yes master!” he said feeling shameful.

The village he was looking at in front of him was clearly a Level 2 village with palisade walls, at least 300 members, close to a third were warriors and there was clear farm and hunter development. It was located at the bottom of a valley between the mountains.

“Seems we won’t get through this without battle.” Akor said.

  "I am incompetent.” Adok said.

“No need, it probably just leveled up.” Akor said.

Akor looked around and saw there were two gates and began to think how to settle this.

In the end he made his move, “One commander, take your squadron as well as all the players to the other side. I will attack on this side and when the battle is under way, you attack the other side and break through.” Akor ordered.

“Yes Master!” the commanders turned to each other and talked before one of them was decided.

The imp shouted and soon all the players and one squadron of demons rushed at the top of the mountain to circle the village.

Akor took his remaining troops and walked down towards the village and took a different approach. He pulled out his staff and cast fireball then added his demon mana.

The two fireballs increased in size again becoming three times larger than the normal staffless casting. They also became menacing black fire.

He shot the fire balls which flew in an arc looking no different as if a catapult had thrown burning shots.

  BOOM! BOOM!

The demon fireballs slammed into the gate and exploded rapidly spreading the flames.

“My name is Demon Lord Akor! Submit to me and you shall live!” Akor’s voice resounded as he followed the same script as before after sending out his warning shot.

There was no reply for a minute.

  BOOM!

Suddenly the gates were smashed apart before the flame spread to the walls. A figure stood there growling.

The figure was riddled in muscles and stood 250 cm tall with red skin but there were no horns on his head. A pair of pure black eyes adorned the creature’s face.

Akor narrowed his eyes as he saw the creature, “That is a giant Imp, isn’t it?” Akor asked.

  “Yes Master.” Adok replied.

Akor’s eyes moved slightly up and there was another figure sitting on the shoulder of the giant imp. With blue skin, long hair and thefigure of a female, a blue imp sat upon the giant imp acting as its brain clearly the chief of the village. The pair of horns on her head clearly showed that she was very smart while her adult look showed that she didn’t pump everything into her head, she clearly developed body and mind to make sure she could survive at the most important moments.

“Demon Lord, what have you come here for?” The blue imp asked.

“This is my territory, submit to me and I will not treat you badly. You two are clearly the chiefs so I will accept you as my minions and if you show your loyalty, you will definitely grow.” Akor said.

The blue imp grinned. “Young demon lord, I am not so stupid like my little brother as to not know that your territory is an empty shell. I know clearly from my great god that you have territory in name only and you must fully ‘digest’ the land before properly claiming it. Your soldiers are all low quality and besides yourself, there are no Tier 2 demons.” She said.

Akor frowned at her words. His eyes moved up and he noticed a familiar but different figure. With a bloody red and bright glowing orb at the top, an altar was built near the center of the city almost like a beacon.

Akor scowled and looked at the two. He had not expected there would be such a strong force near his own home. He hadn’t spent as much time occupying the land as he should have. He would need to ratify it very fast by obtaining Tier 2 imps.

“Which god do you speak of?” Akor asked.

“The great Goddess of Conquest, Edite!” She said with a bright red glow in her eyes.

As Akor had expected, it was an active god. The buff was unknown, but it was sure to be much better than the 0.5% increase in skill exp gain he obtained.

“Do you want to go to war with only you and your brother as the powerful ones among you?” Akor said.

“Come, let us see if you and that small mage next to you can stop my little brother and I?” She said.

  ROAR!

The giant imp roared and called the warriors.

“Attack the warriors, I will deal with the leaders.” Akor ordered his commanders. “Adok, you stay back and act as support.” Akor said.

  “Yes master!” Adok said.

  “Charge!” Akor shouted.

The armored imps behind him charged at the incoming village army while Akor took steps forward and began to channel his demon mana as he watched the incoming giant imp.

The imps completely avoided it, to reach this size it needed both maturing and high endurance and strength to form such a powerful body.

  “Demon fireball!” Akor shouted.

The large fireballs shot forward but a blue shield formed in front of the giant imp as the blue imp defended with a grin.

  BANG! BANG! Crack!

The two fireballs smashed into the shield and shattered it damaging the two with the residual shockwave and fire.

[Blue Imp Everrath Level 12 239/270]

Akor looked at their HP and the damage before frowning. Magic damage is calculated from intelligence plus weapon damage minus enemy endurance plus magic defense. Akor had 26 intelligence + 20 damage from the staff meaning at least 46 damage. The mana shield at level one protected up to 20 damage meaning Morrath’s endurance was 20 and Everrath’s was 15.

"It is my turn!” Everrath said and waved her own staff and shot Akor.

He used demon mana and formed a black mana shield.

Unlike her own, the mana shield Akor made withstood the damage because the demon mana increased the strength of spells by at least 50%.

Her eyes showed shock and started to show some fear.

At this time, Morrath was almost upon Akor when two dark red fireballs surged from above and slammed into the Giant imp without any defense.

“AH!” Everrath shouted in pain and looked at the culprit and found Adok.

"If this continues, you will die before your brother.” Akor said as he destroyed the first shield and spawned another one three seconds later.
<
br />   “Morrath attack!” She ordered.

“RAHH!” The Giant Imp roared and its fist glowed as he used the warrior skill punch.

  BANG!

Cracks riddled the shield before it vanished but it fully stopped the attack. Of course, this was a punch, it wasn’t a sword, so the speed was fast and any humanoid had two fists and not one. The second punch came flying at Akor who crossed his arms.

  Bang!

“What!? You have as much endurance as my brother!” She said shocked.

Akor was pushed back but looked up and grinned, “No, my race gives me only 50 extra HP. I have higher endurance compared to your brother.” He said coldly.

  WOOSH WOOSH!

Two demon fireballs flew out from Akor and was defended by the mana shield but Adok shot two more.

“Submit to me while you still can.” Akor said.

She clenched her teeth finally feeling the pressure from Akor.

The high intensity damage had also awakened Morrath who began to feel an instinctive fear of Akor.

The battle between the four stopped as she looked at him.

“What do you offer me?” She asked.

“You will become my direct minions, each of you will live within the capital and from your presence you will birth more Tier 2 demons. Your brother will become a commander and you will become the leader of my magic corp. and help me construct it as well as doing all magic related research.” Akor offered.

Everrath looked at Akor and her eyes widened, "If I accept, I will be cursed by Edite.” She said probably getting a message to submit.

“What is the curse?” Akor asked.

"I will forever be hunted by all Edite’s followers.” she replied.

“Then you have no worry, I pray to Pyarus, God of Education. I am an enemy of all demon gods who do not wish for sleeping gods to awaken.” he said.

Her eyes shined a bright light and nodded. "I accept. All of you! Stop the fight!” Everrath shouted.

The imps battling actually did as ordered as the blue imp jumped off the Giant imp. Her height was 160 cm, much taller than a Tier 1 imp but still short compared to the two male Tier 2 demons before her.

"I, Demon Lord Akor, accept you, Everrath and Morrath, as my minions.” Akor said

“We accept.” She said for the two.

At once a link from Akor’s chest formed and shot into the chest of the two of them.

“RAH!” instantly Morrath shouted and grabbed his head.

Mana began to pump into the bodies of both. Everrath clenched her teeth as she felt her brain and body growing.

This was the minion buff. It not only branded loyalty into their souls, it improved their bodies depending on the number of mana springs Akor possessed.

A pair of horns began to appear on Morrath’s head but they were small while his pure black eyes suddenly changed and formed iris and pupils as his brain was developed and he gained sentience with the buff of 6 intelligence that all minions gained.

His body also grew rapidly with by a full 10 cm as his endurance and strength were buffed.

His ignored stats like dexterity and agility took effect making his four fingered hand into five fingered while his mental capacity and sensory abilities all improved.

Akor left the pair to their transformation and looked at the remaining imps. “Your leaders have submitted. Become my servants or die!” Akor shouted.

As soon as his words fell, the imps dropped what they were holding and submitted.

He smiled as he took control of their weaker minds and called the rest of the army who had begun their attack but stopped as soon as he beat the two leaders.

They entered from the other side and Akor walked to the center meeting up with his commander and looked at the altar.

He felt a hate and pressure coming from the altar but that didn’t stop him from walking up.

You have mounted the altar of Edite, Goddess of Conquest. What do you wish to do?

  Destroy

  Claim

  “Explain.” Akor said.

  Destroy

You will destroy the altar and god crystal obtaining the resources used to build it and obtained a small amount of the faith gathered in the crystal to sacrifice for your own god.

  Claim

You will convert the altar to your own god and the Faith gathered will be sent to your god.

Akor’s eyes shone upon seeing this. He did not expect that there was a method like this to obtaining rapid faith for the God quest.

  “Claim.” Akor said.

  Crack! BOOM!

At once, cracks riddled the crystal before it shattered. The broken pieces kept breaking while floating in the air becoming grain-like. Then a large light burst from the altar piercing into the heavens. Slowly a new crystal began to form. It was a copy of the one in the capital. The shattered crystals began to liquify as the crystal took form and Akor was able to see that it was all faith.

He was surprised that faith remained in the mortal realm instead of going to the heavenly realm.

It formed a vortex and was absorbed into the crystal which shot the energy directly into the heavens.

You have claimed the altar of another god. Pyarus has gained 3,500 faith.

By claiming the altar of Edite, Goddess of Conquest, you have angered her.

You and your nation have been cursed by the Goddess of Conquest

Curse from the Goddess of Conquest

By angering the Goddess of Conquest, you have been cursed.

When on conquest campaigns, you are more likely to encounter trouble.

All the faithful of Edite will attack you unconditionally and will become harder to recruit.

“Seriously?” He scowled, but he didn’t care since it already happened. It was bound to happen anyway. He was already hated by the gods so he didn’t mind but he did resent the part about making the followers harder to recruit.

He walked to the chiefs house and relocated the village.

  Village Cube

  Normal Quality

A normal quality village. Run by a Tier 2 demon, it has a good defense and development and is likely to grow into a town given time.

  Village chief - Everrath

“We are returning!” Akor roared. All the demons, more than 1000 in number, all returned to Sanity which would require major development to house all the new residents.

  Chapter 6

Valring grinned widely as she circled the two demons. Everrath was frowning, “What is it lesser succubus?” She said with disdain.

“Watch your tone fledgling. I am a lesser one at this time but I was previously a Tier 3 noble succubus!” She said, her eyes shining with a sinister glare. Valring snorted and looked at Akor who was sitting at the throne. “My Lord, besides their rather undisciplined attitude, they are gems among imps.” She grinned.

  “How so?” Akor asked.

“You should have realized that for common minions to become Tier 2 they need at least level 10 but they also need a leading figure, or Tier 2 demon, as their house master. There is a special power needed to evolve.” Valring said.

“Special power? What is that exactly?” Akor asked.

“My Lord, you possess demon mana, this is master’s specific energy which induced your maturing. On the other hand, these two gained a different energy, this is divine might.” She explained, “Divine might is a small drop of mana mixed with faith granted by a god and mixed into their mana. It makes their mana more pure allowing their bodies to mature. As master has seen, I can access a small bit of demon mana. As long as I level up to 10 and train my demon mana to a specific quantity, I will mature into a tier 2 succubus.” She said.

“So this divine might is spread among the imps after the first one appeared?
 Akor asked.

“Yes, it is the most common method. It is obtained by gaining the favor of the god they pledge themselves to. Of course, they obtained it from Edite and they will face a backlash for a short time by abandoning her. They can’t use magic for several weeks or maybe even months but that doesn’t stop them from growing stronger.” She said.

The face of the blue imp turned into a scowl as she had already noticed her mana was thinned and wasn’t restoring anymore.

“Of course, as soon as Pyarus awakens, he can instantly resolve this with a drop of divine might.” She said simply.

“Alright, let’s ignore that for now.” Akor said.

The giant imp was pretty dumb but since gaining intelligence he had begun to learn from the surrounding imps.

“Okay, first off, each of you will be assigned to a demon house. We will begin upgrading the houses to Tier 2. You will also learn all the support skills to improve your utility.” Akor said.

“As you wish.” Everrath said emotionless.

“Alright, Adok, go take them to their houses.” Akor ordered.

“Yes master! This way.” he said and guided the two away.

Akor was left alone with Valring and finally took out all the scrolls he obtained from the three captured villages.

Valring’s eyes shined and walked over.

“My Lord, you are truly without comparison.” She said and divided them. Copies were placed next to each other in an orderly fashion.

“How many copies are needed to upgrade a research?” Akor asked.

“For the simplest upgrade, it needs 2. Master has enough for a few combat skills.” she said.

“How long does it take?” Akor asked.

Valring grinned showing off all her fangs, “For something as simple as this, it will take a few hours at most.” She said.

“Good, then get to it.” Akor said.
